A major incident has been declared after a fire erupted at a recycling centre in a major city. Avon Fire and Rescue crews are tackling a fire at the centre on Kings Weston Lane in Avonmouth, on the edge of Bristol. They were dispatched to the scene at around 3.30am today.
As a large plume of thick, black smoke rises into the sky, the fire service said: "We're responding to a significant fire at a recycling centre on Kings Weston Lane, Avonmouth. A major incident has been declared. If you're nearby, keep windows and doors closed and stay in doors where possible."
