Lisa Faulkner has paid an emotional tribute to husband John Torode, thanking him for supporting her following her recent breast cancer diagnosis. The TV chef, 54, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram alongside a photograph of the former MasterChef presenter relaxing outdoors, describing him as her "best friend" after standing by her throughout her treatment.
In the touching post, Lisa wrote: "I don't know how I would have coped without this one." Addressing her husband directly, she added: "John Torode you make a wonderful nurse and best friend and I adore you. Thank you for holding me up."
Sharing the news with fans last week, she said doctors had successfully removed the cancer during what she described as a "quite a big op", with tests confirming everything had been cleared.
Lisa also urged others not to delay attending routine breast screening appointments, crediting a mammogram with detecting the cancer before it progressed.
She said: "I'm so grateful I went for my mammogram."
Encouraging others to do the same, she added: "Don't put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn't have been picked up."
Lisa also praised the NHS for making early diagnosis and treatment possible.
Following her announcement, Lisa was inundated with messages of support from fans and famous friends. Lisa Snowdon penned, "Sending you so much love and wrapping you in the biggest hug darling Lisa." This Morning presenter Dermot O'Leary wrote, "Sending big love xx," and Kate Lawler add, "Oh darling. Sending you huge amounts of love and healing hugs. I’m so pleased you went for your mammogram x."
Among those sending their love was her daughter Billie Coghill, who described her mum as "my absolute inspiration."
Lisa and John married in 2019 after first meeting when she appeared on Celebrity MasterChef, which she went on to win. The pair later launched John & Lisa's Weekend Kitchen, becoming one of ITV's most popular presenting duos.
