Morning Live presenters Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones have been at the centre of dating rumours for several months. The pair sparked speculation of an on-screen romance after they were photographed together outside the BBC studio last year. The rumours only intensified appeared side by side on the red carpet at ITV’s Pride of Britain Awards in October and later at a Royal Television Society event in Manchester.

The mum-of-three, 41, has shut down claims the presenting duo are in a relationship. The host presents Morning Live alongside her 48-year-old co-presenter, Gethin. Addressing the rumours in a new interview with The Times, Helen was unequivocal when asked if there was any truth to the reports.

“We're not,” the TV star said. “We work together; he's one of my best friends.”

She shared the rumours had become so widespread even friends and family were fooled.

“I've had my best friend congratulate me on our engagement,” she revealed.

Earlier this year, Helen told The Mirror: “[Gethin and I] just work together, we are not together. No, no, no. We are just work friends.

“They printed pictures of us at work and [claimed] that we're together, [but we were] at work together.”

The TV presenter divorced rugby player Richie Myler in 2022 after nine years of marriage and just months after their third child was born.

“It felt humiliating to me because of where I’m from. I didn’t enjoy walking down the street and people knowing stuff about my past,” Helen told The Times.

She spoke of how she was determined to “get up and get on with it” following their split, especially because she hated the “patronising looks” she would get off strangers after the news went public.
