A major UK airport used by millions of people each year has urged passengers to "check the status of their flight with their airline" after an earlier technical issue. Glasgow Airport experienced problems with its X-ray machines this afternoon, causing disruption for passengers at check-in.

While staff worked to resolve this, the airport urged people to check with their airline regarding issues with their flights. In an update posted to X shortly after, it was confirmed that the technical fault was resolved.

However, the airport warned of lingering disruption as services returned to normal, and reiterated its message for passengers to check the status of their flights with their airline.

It wrote: "Some minor disruption may still occur as the airport returns to normal service so passengers are urged to check the status of their flight with their airline."

One traveller was told it's the first time such an issue has occurred at the airport, GlasgowLive reports, leaving them worried that they could miss their 4pm flight to Cyprus.

They described the situation as "chaos", adding that other passengers are worried about leaving their luggage at check-in.

A spokesperson said: "A short‑term staffing issue has affected one of the fuel suppliers used by airlines at the airport, with work underway to return stock levels to normal.

"There have been no related flight cancellations, and the airport remains fully operational."

They added that fuel stocks are now returning to normal, and there was no widespread disruption despite delays to some flights.
