Hong Kong TV presenter Lillian Sze has died after a brief battle with ovarian cancer. Confirming the news on social media, Sze's close friends and family members released a joint statement.

It reads: "Dear friends, fans, and everyone who has always cared about Lillian: It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Lillian Shi Keying passed away peacefully this morning (June 21, 2026) surrounded by her loved ones and family.

"Lillian faced everything in life with a positive attitude, whether at work or in her daily life. Even in the face of illness, she continued to encourage herself with positivity while receiving immense support and blessings from others. We hope everyone offers us space to handle her afterlife arrangements, and please remember our energetic Lillian."

Sze's passing comes less than one month after she confirmed her ovarian cancer diagnosis on Instagram. More recently, Sze, who frequently shared updates about her health, told fans that she had stopped chemotherapy after her body became too weak for treatment.

The presenter announced in late May that she had ovarian cancer. She said a 10cm ovarian tumour discovered in October last year had grown to 17cm, roughly the size of a five-month foetus.

It was only after the operation that she learned the tumour had become cancerous and had spread. She underwent further surgery in April to remove her uterus and was expected to return to normal life after six sessions of chemotherapy.

“But after surgery, I found out that the condition was more serious than I thought, and even to save my life, I now have a stoma,” she said.

“I did not intend to talk about this publicly as I wanted to be chill, working while undergoing treatment. But recently, the situation was not as good as imagined, and I had to reject many work invitations, so I am sorry and decided to disclose everything at once, so that everyone could know I am facing this positively.”

Prior to her death, Sze also confirmed that she had decided to donate her body for medical research, stating: "I hope I can help more students in the future, and I believe you will support my move."

A celebrated content creator, Sze regularly worked for ViuTV and she was also known and loved for emceeing entertainment events and fan meet and greets for South Korean artists.

Following the news of Sze's death, tributes have poured in across social media.

"Although the time I spent with you, Lillian, was short, it was filled with happy memories. I will always remember your optimism and ever-smiling face. Let's go see the cherry blossoms together again sometime," said one social media user.

"You've become the brightest star. We'll remember your kindness and goodness. RIP," added a second. "I'll always remember your positive and optimistic smile and your dedicated work ethic. RIP," penned a third.
