Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are being raised in sunny California - but they're "thriving" according to a new insider update. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to largely raise their children away from the spotlight, with their privacy very closely protected.
However, the young royals are reportedly "really thriving" living in America, according to a source who recently spoke to PEOPLE. The source added that the family "love their home and their community" in Montecito.
A source also told the publication that the couple give their children "space to be themselves" and for their different personalities to "flourish", noting that it was important for Harry, who was raised in the public eye.
As well as Archie having celebrated his seventh birthday just a few weeks ago, Lilibet is set to celebrate her fifth birthday later this week.
The couple's only daughter was born on June 4, 2021, a year after their move to the US.
Although the couple have made the decision to shield their children from the spotlight, Meghan has frequently shown her children on Instagram - although being careful not to show their faces.
Just hours before her trip to Switzerland last month, Meghan shared a sweet picture of Lilibet sitting by her legs in a walk-in wardrobe, dressed in red.
Since her fourth birthday post last year, Meghan has mentioned or shown her daughter at least 13 times on her personal Instagram page alone.
Branding expert Megan Dooley, head of London-based TAL Agency, recently told the Daily Mail about Meghan's decision to share pictures of her children on social media.
She said: “We certainly have seen a noticeable shift in Meghan’s approach to featuring her children on public social media, especially when we compare it to hers and Harry’s earlier dedication to privacy.
"But a closer look suggests that these appearances are very selective and intentional rather than casual and unplanned.”
