The children of former glamour model Katie Price, Junior and Princess Andre, have spoken about "the most difficult time in our lives" during her public breakdown in 2018. Katie, 48, has experienced a tumultuous life in the spotlight over the past three decades, having initially gained fame under her alter ego Jordan as a page three girl in 1996.

The model has endured several significant mental breakdowns – particularly in 2018 and 2021 – which led to severe depression, and she has previously stated her difficulties were worsened by relentless media attention. Featured in her new documentary, Katie Price: Nothing To Hide, the two children she shares with ex-husband and singer Peter Andre have discussed what it was like living with their mother when she "wasn't in the right headspace". Junior, 21, and Princess, 19, recalled the period during which Katie was battling with her mental health following her split from third husband Kieran Hayler after his infidelity.

Junior said: "When (Kieran Hayler) cheated on her the first time, that literally broke her. That was probably the most difficult time of my life – of our lives – probably," he continued, referring to himself and his younger sister.

Princess added: "I felt like I didn't know what was going on and I couldn't talk to mum about it, because she wasn't there."

The teenager, who has since become a reality star and TV personality, also recalled how "lonely" she felt during this period, revealing: "(Katie) would give me a blanket and she sprayed all her perfume on it, and that was my attachment to mum.

"I remember after school, I used to go home and just feel so lonely. I used to just cuddle to the blanket and just cry."

Junior went on to reveal that he chose to reside with his father, Mysterious Girl singer Andre, throughout his teenage years as his mother "wasn't in the right headspace" and "wasn't being a mum".

Junior continued: "She wasn't being the mum that I knew from when I was a little boy. The amount of love she gave me was so immense and that's what I missed so much. Mum was on drugs, and she could not look after us, and that's the reality of it. She couldn't. And then I got fed up. I clocked on that this was a very unhealthy environment, and I needed to get out.

"Thank God my dad was stable, because that's the house I went to and gained my sanity back. It made me feel like I wasn't good enough, because she wasn't fixing herself for me, she wasn't fixing herself for us."

Before that, Junior described growing up in separate households as "actually really fun". He said: "Mum is a very fun mum. Very loving, in her own way. There weren't really many rules, just imagine kids running around, high on sugar."

Princess added: "We never did anything to cross boundaries but, mum didn't really have any boundaries to cross. You never have a boring day with her, there is always something going on in her life."

Junior lauded their father for instilling rules and structure, noting that it maintained their "sanity".
