House of the Dragon Season 3 promises to serve up another thrilling instalment this week. After premiering back on June 21, House of the Dragon Season 3 has already served up plenty of action and drama in its first two instalments. The HBO fantasy drama, which serves as a prequel series to Game of Thrones, sees the Targaryen Civil War take another turn as the Blacks gain the upper hand.

House of the Dragon Season 3 consists of eight episodes, which will be airing weekly on HBO in the USA and on Sky Atlantic, NOW and HBO Max UK & Ireland in the UK. Here’s the lowdown on the forthcoming episode of House of the Dragon Season 3 from release time to plot.

House of the Dragon Season 3 episode 3 will be airing on Monday, July 6 at 2am British Summer Time (BST) on Sky Atlantic, streaming platform NOW and HBO Max UK & Ireland.

Subscribers to NOW or HBO Max UK & Ireland can watch the episode any time from 2am BST or stream later in the day. Sky Atlantic will be repeating the episode at 9pm for those who missed the 2am premiere or didn’t watch on streaming.

Episodes of House of the Dragon air at exactly the same in the UK and the USA as part of a Transatlantic simulcast, which was introduced to crack down on illegal downloading triggered by the immense popularity of Game of Thrones.

The simulcasts have been used by HBO ever since Game of Thrones for its biggest shows, so that British fans don’t miss out.

HBO broadcasts the show on Sundays at 9pm Eastern Standard time in the USA, which is 2am BST in the UK. All eight episodes of House of the Dragon Season 3 will be broadcast at this time each week.

HBO recently dropped a preview for the forthcoming episode, which sees Rhaenyra Targaryen (played by Emma D’Arcy) now on the Iron Throne and trying to uphold her father Viserys I's (Paddy Considine) legacy.

However, the crown lies heavy on her head as she attends to rule and hears her people. Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) also warns his wife that she will have to kill Daeron Targaryen as he’s a claimant to the throne.

Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) also warns Rhaenyra: “You may not rule and remain yourself. There is in you a door that must shut.

“You will do things that your heart would have recoiled from.”

Rhaenyra tried to fight against this: “I dispute that I must become what I am not.”

Despite taking the throne, Rhaenyra still faces enemies on all sides as Ormund Hightower (James Norton) still poses a threat.

The teaser culminates in Rhaenyra staring into a burning bonfire of items belonging to the Greens.

House of the Dragon Season 3 airs on Sky Atlantic, NOW and HBO Max UK & Ireland on Mondays
