Aldi is set to unleash a range of 'cool air' gadgets in stores as part of its latest SpecialBuy deals. The timing could not be better, as Britain continues to swelter through yet another scorching day, with temperatures hitting 35C in some parts of the country.

Earlier this week, the Met Office issued a rare extreme heat red warning across parts of England and Wales, with forecasts predicting highs of 40C. The punishing heat has triggered school closures, travel chaos, mounting pressure on the NHS, a slump in retail footfall and a number of tragic drownings.

A powerful 'heat dome' combined with soaring humidity has sent daytime temperatures surging past a record-breaking 36.7C this week. The relentless conditions have brought with them unbearable 'tropical nights', with temperatures stubbornly refusing to dip below 20C.

In a desperate bid to keep cool, millions of Britons are turning to fans and air conditioning units, as most UK homes are designed to retain heat rather than repel it. Lidl is launching a new 3-in-1 portable air conditioning unit this week, while Aldi is rolling out its own range of 'cool air' products from next week.

From Thursday (July 2), customers will be able to get their hands on a Globe Fan for £39.99, a Microfibre Duvet set from £9.99, a Portable Telescopic Fan for £24.99, along with a host of other cooling products. The full selection is available to browse on Aldi's website, reports the Mirror.

Two particularly noteworthy offers include Aldi's Portable Air Cooler priced at £14.99 and the £16.99 Jet Fan. The air cooler is available in three colourways and features a cube-shaped design.

Its portable dimensions allow it to be transported between rooms or taken outdoors, as it operates without requiring mains power — charging instead via a USB-C cable.

Users can select from three speed settings, and the device boasts an integrated LED motion feature. An automatic colour-changing function is included alongside a touch control interface.

Aldi says: "Your very own cooling device, perfect for bedrooms, offices, or even outdoor activities."

The unit also features a detachable water reservoir and a top compartment for adding water to generate additional cooling. Three colour options are on offer: grey, blue, and light blue.

Regarding the £16.99 Jet Fan, it arrives with a zip-up storage case to house each component. Aldi says: "Stay cool during the warmer months with fast, efficient cooling."

The 'two-in-one' jet fan serves dual purposes, functioning both as a dust blower and vacuum pump. Various attachments are provided for different applications. Aldi adds: "Suitable for cleaning via compressed air, for inflating or vacuuming".

Owners can modify its power level, and three colours are available: black, blue, green, and grey. The device incorporates a built-in rechargeable battery, illumination, belt clip and storage case. It charges via USB (charging cable supplied).
