As things heat up on the farm, the former Top Gear host took to Instagram to issue an urgent update to fans hoping to visit the Amazon Prime farm this week. Alongside a picture of his beloved pub, The Farmer's Dog, with a hot weather reminder sign posted outside it, the TV star shared a lengthy update.
It read: "It turns out that when Britain reaches temperatures normally associated with southern Spain, certain things stop working properly. As a result, Chops, (our butcher's counter) will be closed today and potentially for the remainder of the week. The combination of extreme heat, refrigeration units and a giant tent has proved challenging.
"We're working on solutions and will reopen as soon as it's sensible to do so. Don't worry, our famous sausage rolls will still be available from the garden bars and pub bar. Diddly Squat Farm Shop and Hops will remain open, although you may notice we've moved a few tills around to make life slightly more bearable for our team."
The presenter went on to put a ban in place for some of his favourite customers, insisting that it was for their safety. Clarkson went on: "And finally, a word on dogs. We love them. The clue is in the name. Normally, they're always welcome.
"But with very little shade on site and temperatures nudging towards 35 degrees and beyond, today might be a good day for them to stay somewhere cool and comfortable instead. Thank you for understanding."
It didn't take long before fans flocked to the comments to share their concerns online, with one user penning: "Heat is a terrible thing to deal with. I try to get all my work done in the winter." Another agreed: "Get a refrigerated trailer. They are built for the heat. Perfect temp solution or even permanent."
Meanwhile, others praised the businessman for his direct message and putting his customers first, with one gushing: "I love this - so sensible. Why would any dog owner need these basic instructions, but some do. Well done, you guys." Another agreed: "I think that might be one of the nicest ways I've read this before, to remind customers about the safety and care of their pups [paw prints emoji]."
