Marks and Spencer has been my go-to for affordable summer fashion this year, from linen co-ords to holiday-ready dresses. But now the high street favourite has completely won me over with its latest beauty launch too.

The retailer has just unveiled its new Studio Eau de Parfum collection, featuring eight unisex fragrances designed to be worn alone or layered, with each 100ml bottle priced at £22.50. There's something to suit every scent preference, from fresh florals to rich woody notes, but it's Darkest Vanilla that has already caught shoppers' attention.

Better still, I've found a way to get the new fragrance for as little as £6.94. New TopCashback members who shop at M&S can claim cashback that effectively brings the £22.50 perfume down to £6.94, while existing M&S customers can still get it for around £7.31.

To claim the offer, shoppers need to sign up for TopCashback and make their purchase through the cashback site, although cashback can take up to seven days to appear in their accounts.

As someone who can't resist a good vanilla fragrance, I couldn't wait to try Darkest Vanilla for myself - and it hasn't disappointed. Blending vanilla with brown sugar, amber, tonka bean and patchouli, it's sweet without being sickly, with the deeper notes giving it a sophisticated, almost sultry finish rather than a sugary gourmand feel.

A couple of spritzes are all it takes before I start getting compliments, and the longevity has really impressed me, too. I love spraying it on my clothes because the scent lingers for hours.

It reminds me of Kayali Vanilla 28, a cult favourite thanks to its similar mix of brown sugar and tonka bean with warm musky undertones. It's pricier, though, at £80 for a 50ml bottle on Cult Beauty.

I'm clearly not the only fan either of Darkest Vanilla, though. One early reviewer said: "Smells so good! Gorgeous warm vanilla scent without being too sweet. The bottle is stunning! & such great value."

Meanwhile, another wrote: "I bought this for a gift, and she was absolutely delighted, my daughter-in-law loves it."

Beyond Darkest Vanilla, I also love Salted Haze, another option from the Studio Eau de Parfum collection. At first spray, it really does smell like a summer holiday; the sea salt notes are immediately recognisible.

To lean further into the coastal vibe, the perfume also features notes of seaweed and pear blossom for a holiday-inspired theme. Meanwhile, lavender and bergamot provide a fresh, tranquil heart - though admittedly, the lavender didn't come through for me.

It also has a slight muskiness to it, which gives the fragrance a soft, skin-like warmth and helps balance the fresher marine notes. Though I do prefer Darkest Vanilla, Salted Haze is an addictive summer option that I can't wait to wear at the beach.

It's light, airy and effortlessly transportive - the kind of scent that instantly brings to mind sun-soaked coastlines, salty sea breezes and long afternoons by the water. It's ideal for anyone who enjoys fresh fragrances with a subtle, sophisticated twist.

I would compare it to Jo Malone London's Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne (£122 for 100ml), although Salted Haze feels like a fruitier, more floral interpretation of the same coastal concept. Both fragrances capture that breezy, seaside atmosphere beautifully.

However, where Wood Sage & Sea Salt leans more earthy and mineral, Salted Haze has a softer sweetness thanks to the pear blossom. The seaweed and salt notes also give it a more overtly beachy character, making it feel a little more like a summer holiday in a bottle.
