The body of a stowaway has tragically been found in the landing gear of a plane on arrival at one of the UK's busiest airports. The man was understood to have smuggled himself into the undercarriage o0f the Air Arabia Maroc jet before take-off from Tangier in Morocco.

Emergency services were scrambled to Gatwick Airport on Tuesday after the body was found in the Airbus A320 at around 11.45am on touchdown in the UK. Following the tragic discovery, the Air Arabia low-cost return flight was delayed. A source quoted by The Sun said: "It’s a tragedy. The cargo team unloading the plane had a horrible shock. Everyone is devastated that anyone would feel so desperate they would risk their life in this way. There are major security concerns regarding how anyone was able to bypass security in Morocco."
