Actress Sanchita Ugale has tragically taken her own life at the tender age of 22 years old. According to police reports, she died by suicide on the evening of June 14 at her home in Nalasopara, India. She was taken to Vasai-Virar Municipal Hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
A police official said in a statement: “A police team inspected the scene immediately after being alerted about the incident. We did not find anything suspicious at the spot, and no suicide note was recovered.” The young actress was renowned for playing Diya Tandon in the television serial Kumkum Bhagya, and her loved ones have opened up about her passing.
Her friend Geetanjali told Telly Talk India: “If a person says so many times that they will die by suicide, then it was not sudden. For six months she had been saying that she wanted to die, that she did not want to live.”
Geetanjali said Sanchita had been battling with depression since the beginning of 2026. “She was depressed, of course. I think this began in January,” she said.
Sanchita shared her final social media post just hours before her death. She uploaded a video of herself singing the popular tune Dafli Wale.
Her fans have flocked to comment on her death under the post, with one writing: “She looked so happy and enjoying her life.”
Another said: “People who look happiest r the most depressed ones. They hide it in a better way.” A third wrote: “Miss you, Sanchita.”
The exact reason behind Sanchita's death remains unknown, and police are continuing their investigation.
