
Nine people sustained injuries in a shooting near England’s World Cup base in Kansas City, Missouri.
Officers were called to Troost Avenue shortly after 4am on Saturday following reports of gunfire. The scene is located a short drive from the training base and hotel where the England squad will be based during the tournament.
Police said that officers were dispatched after shots were fired and arrived to find a large crowd dispersing.
Three women sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital.
The incident occurred on Troost Avenue at around 4am on Saturday morning, close to the England squad's training base camp at Swope Soccer Village, to the south east of the city.
The team's hotel is also not far away.
The Argentinian - the World Cup holders - and Dutch teams are also based in Kansas City.
