Dame Prue Leith has warned her Great British Bake Off successor, Nigella Lawson, to avoid using one phrase, or she could land herself in "trouble". In January, the 86-year-old confirmed she would be leaving The Great British Bake Off after joining the Channel 4 series in 2017 — and Prue appears to be pleased with her replacement.
Earlier this year, she told BBC Radio Oxford that Nigella will offer a "whole fresh look" and will be "wonderful". Prue also said she "doesn't need any advice from me", but it seems there may be one exception. An especially tasty bake on the show would, at times, prompt the South African-born chef to joke that it was "worth the calories", but she claims this seemingly innocuous remark would cause "trouble". She even had a word of caution for Nigella: "Don't say that. I got into a lot of trouble. Apparently, that was fat shaming."
