Iconic musician David Sifaayo, best known by his stage name Master Parrot, died on Monday June 1 at the age of 46 after he was struck by a speeding motorcycle as he attempted to cross the highway, according to Daily Monitor. The Ugandan dancehall artist, who rose to prominence in the mid-2000s and 2010s with hit singles like Ekikompola, Kikiri Kika, and Muliro reportedly sustained severe injuries and died at the scene. Emergency responders and police officers arrived shortly after the accident. His remains were transported to Mulago National Referral Hospital for post mortem and investigations into the accident reportedly continue.

The star began his career in a group called Firebase where he worked alongside notable artistes including Bobi Wine, Sizzaman, Buchaman, Toolman and the late Weatherman. before moving on to another band called Leone Island. In 2008 he flew the nest and went solo and enjoyed great success.

In a 2018 interview with PML Daily he revealed he was on the comeback trail and had given up drinking.

"It is one of the habits that have been destroying my career but am now re-born in all kinds of social living. So 2018 is different. I am Master Parrot re-loaded in style, fashion and talent," he said.

"2018 has to be the turning point in my career. I want back my lost fame I had back in the early 2000s," he continued revealing he was releasing a new album.

Tributes flooded in on social media from devastated fans as they learned the tragic news of his death.

"Rest in peace Master parrot those were the musicians abaliko nga ndi mu high school and I know all their music by heart, Kitalo nnyo bambi, may God comfort his family, friends and the entire Music family for losing such talent, Rest in peace Bambi," on penned.

"Bambi...naye that road the way people drives on that road hooooo may his soul rest in peace, that's life nobody knows tomorrow," another added.

A third chimed in: "Look at Bambi, may his soul be RIP." A fourth shared: "To God we belong and to Him we shall return."

A fifth commented: "Very sad, Rest in Peace legend." Meanwhile a sixth lamented: "Gone too soon. RIP."
