Katie Price's husband Lee Andrews has been located. The self-proclaimed millionaire was reported missing on 17th May, five days after he was last seen. Lee claims he was arrested and detained on suspicion of espionage, and has since been held at Dubai's notorious Al Awir prison. Katie said: "I have found him – he is alive, and he is okay. I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him. It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy. I don't know much more than that right now," she told The Sun.
In the days prior to his arrest, he had cleared his belongings from his rented apartment and briefly moved in with his father, staying at his Dubai villa. Lee must now settle a four-figure fine and is expected to walk free on Monday.
The former glamour model had initially told her followers that her husband had been kidnapped in Dubai while preparing to fly to the United Kingdom to be reunited with her. During a distressing FaceTime call, Lee told his wife he was in the back of a van with his hands bound.
He warned Katie that people were "coming" for him, causing her considerable alarm. Five days after their last conversation, Katie filed a missing person report and informed fans that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the United Arab Emirates, where Lee is based, had become involved in the search. Now, a fortnight after disappearing, Lee has been located.
Alarm bells first rang over Lee when he failed to appear alongside Katie on Good Morning Britain, one day before Katie last had contact with him. He was scheduled to fly from Muscat International to join his wife for their first joint interview.
However, the airport seemed to be Terminal Two of Dubai International, rather than Muscat. ITV also confirmed that a Foreign Office spokesperson told them that the Foreign Office was supporting a British national who had been detained in the United Arab Emirates.
Katie informed fans on her YouTube page she suspected Lee had been kidnapped. She revealed that the location services on Lee's phone had been switched off, and nobody was able to track him down or make contact with him. "Me and Lee are in constant contact all the time," she said, adding that it was "worrying" that Lee's location had been disabled. Katie revealed that she had been informed that nobody could locate Lee in Dubai or establish his last known whereabouts. "We're now wondering, as far-fetched as it is, he's a missing person," she said, adding: "I don't know if he's been kidnapped." She stated that there had been no records of Lee at any prison or police station.
