Tess Daly and Vernon Kay have announced their split after 23 years. The TV presenters, who tied the knot in 2003, shared matching statements on Instagram, penning: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority.

"There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this transition together. We will not be making any further public comments."

Just days before the bombshell statement, Tess posted a telling photograph alongside her daughter Phoebe. The 57-year-old television personality shared a post as her daughter returned from New York as she shared a sweet picture of them toggether.

Earlier in March, Phoebe uploaded a clip to Instagram from the Big Apple, with the caption: "NYC has my heart. Grateful to call it home for a while..."

It appears Phoebe lately touched down in the UK to see her family, and her mother Tess was delighted to have her returned "for a few days".

Publishing a photograph of herself and Phoebe to Instagram, the mother-of-two penned: "Got my Phoebe back for a few days and making the most of every moment".

She uploaded an image of them standing on a bridge on a beautiful spring afternoon. Tess also included a picture of an ice cream and a snap of Phoebe seated on the grass basking in the sunshine.

Phoebe responded to her mum's post as she wrote: "Love you" with a white love heart emoji.

Tess failed to include Vernon in the pictures, as he shared his own snap with his daughter on a rooftop bar in London, penning: "Ahhhhh Summer nights in London on the @thechanceryrosewood rooftop with @phoebeekay The best view on a clear blue evening sky…" Tess was not included in his pictures either, hinting at a separate reunion with their daughter.

Tess and Vernon first met at a BBC Christmas party while both beginning their careers as TV hosts, and tied the knot just over a year later.
