Donny Osmond has shared a tragic update on social media. The musician, who rose to fame alongside his siblings as musical group, "The Osmonds", suffered a devastating loss. Donny's beloved brother, Alan Osmond, has died at the age of 76. His family confirmed his wife, Suzanne, and their eight sons were at his bedside at the time of his death. The couple also have 30 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. While they did not reveal his cause of death, the star had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1987.

The family paid a touching tribute in a statement issued through a spokesperson released on Tuesday, saying: "His positive outlook was an inspiration to many, and he donated much of his time speaking at MS events, encouraging individuals like himself on how to mentally and physically deal with the advancement and treatment of the disease."

Donny, 68, has now broken his silence following the loss of his brother as he penned a heartbreaking tribute. The American actor and singer thanked Alan for always being there for him in an emotional statement posted on X. It was accompanied by a black and white photo of Alan holding Donny as a baby.

The message read: "This is one of the earliest pictures I have of my brother Alan and me.

Even back then, you can see that he had his arm around me, watching over me. That’s who he was. My protector. My guide. The one who quietly carried so much responsibility so the rest of us could shine."

He continued: "Alan was our leader in every sense of the word. His tireless work helped build everything we became. I will always be grateful for the sacrifices he made and the love he showed—not just to me, but to every member of our family.

I owe him more than I can ever fully express. I love you, Alan. Thank you for always being there for me."

The singer signed off: "Till we meet again, Brother Donny."

His 211,000 followers flocked to comment on the post as fans offered their condolences.
