Katie Price has spoken publicly for the first time about her most recent driving ban, disclosing that she only learned of it through the press. Last week, it emerged that the 47-year-old had been handed her seventh driving ban after a vehicle registered in her name was caught travelling at 80mph in North Yorkshire. She was also fined £1,000. In the most recent episode of her podcast, the Katie Price Show, she explained what had led to her predicament, stating that an assistant she had employed had failed to keep on top of their administrative duties. "[The] new driving ban I'm actually f**king furious about. Because I'm so up to date with everything," she told sister Sophie Price.

"Now the lady that was working with me [is] supposed to do my post and all of that, which she has been - even I have to nag a bit sometimes.

"From the moment I moved in here [to her new home], I said, 'Can you change my driving license and Harvey's mobility car to this address.' Because I don't want situations where letters are going to the old house and I'm not getting them, and then I get a surprise of something. She kept saying, 'Yeah, I've done it. I've done it.' Still haven't received it.

"If you want to know the truth, I found out I was banned by the papers. Everyone around me said, 'You're banned.' I said, 'No, I'm not.' I am actually livid about that, because if I'd got the letters, I would have replied to them.

"So basically, I've paid someone to do a job, they haven't done it and the consequences [of] me relying on someone again, I'm now banned from driving for six months. I am going to go back and see if I can appeal it. Or I just think, it's only six months."

"Where I live now, I can walk to the shop, the kids' schools are 10 minutes up the road. They can get a school bus from up the road, or I can get them a taxi to school and back. I get shopping delivered here anyway, because I'm always at home, and I work at home. So it's not like in the past, where I've been stuck right in the middle of nowhere. I've got a train station up the road. So, to be honest, it's not that bad."

Despite being barred from getting behind the wheel for the coming months, Price maintained an upbeat outlook about staying at home, enthusing about working out in her new home gym, "learning to cook more meals" and enjoying time in her garden.

She reiterated that she is "not bothered" about the disqualification, before pondering who would insure her "after being banned seven times".

Presiding over the case, Magistrate Claire Sagar found Price guilty of failing to respond to the police charge, ordering her to pay a £660 fine, £120 in costs, and a £264 victim surcharge.
