He first graced our screens as Bradley Branning in EastEnders back in 2006, and while his departure from the soap was nothing short of dramatic, many fans are curious about what he has been doing since.

Charlie Clements is the soap actor who portrayed the iconic son of Max Branning as a teenager, shortly after completing his A levels.

He remained a pivotal character within the programme for four years, featuring in some of the most significant storylines of that period.

It was these landmark television moments that earned him Best Newcomer at the British Soap Awards, and he subsequently went on to claim Best Exit at the very same awards when his character met his end.

His character was paired with Stacey Slater in what became one of the most unforgettable on-screen romances in British television history, when she embarked on an affair with his father, Max.

The episode broadcast on Christmas Day 2007, when the whole family discovered Stacey had slept with Max as a form of 'payback' for Bradley's mistreatment towards her.

Then, during a live episode on 19 February 2010, Bradley met his fate by tumbling from the roof of the Queen Victoria pub while fleeing from the police.

At the time of his exit from the show, Clements, 22 at the time, told The Mirror: "I have been at EastEnders for nearly four years, and I have enjoyed every minute with some fantastic storylines. But I feel that now is the time to take on some new roles."

He did exactly that, taking on a number of roles which saw him appear in the likes of Casualty and the documentary Elizabeth and Her Enemies. That said, it's fair to say none of them resonated with viewers quite the way his portrayal as a member of the Branning family did.

Since leaving the acting world, Clements has embarked on an entirely fresh career and lifestyle away from the public eye.

Back in May 2024, he shared with his Instagram followers: "Aware that some may be less interested in my golf-related activities! But for those who are, go follow me at @charlieclementsgolf."

As it turns out, the former soap star is now a golf greenkeeper, maintaining the pristine grounds that are synonymous with top-class golf courses.

He is remarkably open about this career switch and delights in sharing all manner of golf-related content online. A previous message to his followers read: "In my career as an actor I've had some incredible opportunities and moments.

But since starting out as a greenkeeper a year ago, this is up there with the best of them... Touching the hallowed turf of Centre!"

Away from work, Charlie has kept himself rather busy behind the scenes, raising three children with his wife, Rebecca Clatworthy, whom he married in 2018, regularly sharing charming snippets of family life and endearing photographs of the family dog.

Yet he is not quite ready to leave his acting days firmly in the past. Last February, on his main account @charlie__clements, the actor shared a heartfelt tribute to EastEnders' 40th anniversary, posting a selfie alongside his Soap Award.

He wrote: "Reminded today that I died 15 years ago today, which makes that little thing even older!!! As EE turns 40, I remind myself how fortunate I was to work on such an institution at such a young age and will be forever thankful to those to who made it possible."
