Drivers are facing traffic chaos on the M1 this afternoon after a crash partially closed one stretch of the major UK motorway. National Highways said there has been a crash on the M1 northbound at junction 28, with one of four lanes closed.
Motorway camera footage from the scene shows police holding traffic in one section and queuing traffic further on. This follows a huge crash on the M25 earlier today, which sparked more travel chaos and delays of up to 60 minutes for motorists. The crashes come with torrential rain hammering the UK, with the Met Office issuing yellow weather warnings for 77 areas.
