A Netflix drama described as "better" than The Summer I Turned Pretty is making a comeback, reports the Mirror.

My Life with the Walter Boys has received approval for a fourth series from Netflix, prior to the launch of its third instalment, which completed filming in November 2025.

Series two was broadcast in August 2025 and competed directly with The Summer I Turned Pretty, which was screening around the same period.

While no premiere date for series three has been confirmed yet, supporters are anticipating My Life with the Walter Boys will be back shortly.

The programme is adapted from Ali Novak's 2012 novel My Life with the Walter Boys and centres on Manhattan resident Jackie Howard (portrayed by Nikki Rodriguez), who relocates to Silver Falls in rural Colorado after the tragic loss of her parents and sister in a catastrophic car accident.

Working through her bereavement, Jackie moves in with her godparents, George (Marc Blucas) and Katherine Walter (Sarah Rafferty), alongside their nine offspring, comprising eight sons and one daughter.

Elder brothers Alex (Ashby Gentry) and Cole (Noah LaLonde) both attempt to capture Jackie's heart as she finds herself in a romantic triangle between the two brothers, similar to the storyline of Prime Video's The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Numerous devotees of the charming Netflix programme have previously expressed their admiration for the show on social media and drawn comparisons to Jenny Han's cherished The Summer I Turned Pretty, which is returning as a film. One viewer posted on IMDb: "This is so much better than the summer I turned pretty and honestly deserves a watch."

They added: "Love the dynamics of all the characters and chemistry between them too. I also like the adult relationships and their characters as well."

A second viewer declared in their 9/10 review: "I refuse to apologise for the fact that I finished this show within less than a week."

The reviewer went on to say: "I enjoyed it to keep it simple. It was addictive, easy to binge, and I was invested."

A third titled their 10/10 review: "Better than other triangle teen romances" and declared: "This series is much better than the summer I turned pretty in many ways."

The fan said they "absolutely loved" the character and the actors, and hailed the chemistry as "phenomenal".

Yet another top-rated review enthused: "I can't describe how good it is. It makes me want to watch it over and over again, and it won't get old. Everyone says it's a spinoff of the summer I turned pretty, but it's way better than that."

My Life With the Walter Boys season 3 will be released on Netflix later this year
