The 70th Eurovision Song Contest is heating up now with the second semi-final taking place this evening (Thursday, May 14) to whittle down the countries ahead of the grand final.
The UK will be represented by electronic singer-songwriter Look Mum No Computer and their song Eins, Zwei, Drei.
This year’s Eurovision is proving just as controversial as ever after five nations, including Italy from the Big Five, withdrew after Israel was confirmed to be taking part.
The Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Iceland and Slovenia confirmed in 2025 that they wouldn’t be participating due to Israel’s ongoing military action against Gaza.
Despite the controversy, Israel and nine other nations made it through the first semi-final on earlier this week.
Sadly, 80s icon Boy George, representing San Marino, failed to qualify from the first semi-final.
The countries that qualified for the grand final are Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Israel, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Serbia and Sweden.
Tonight, another batch of countries will be hoping to win votes in their hopes for Eurovision glory.
Here’s a rundown of the start time, the countries competing in the second semi-final, and the competition's running order.
The second semi-final will be airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm tonight.
Rylan and Angela Scanlon are live from Vienna to commentate on the show.
The UK’s act Look Mum No Computer will be taking to the stage for his first live performance of Eins, Zwei, Drei.
Audiences can also expect to see Austrian hosts Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski opening the show with a unique performance of JJ’s 2025 winning song Wasted Love, which according to the BBC “may not go to plan…”.
JJ will also be returning to the stage during the interval with a brand-new song.
Audiences will also see former Neighbours actress and pop star Delta Goodrem taking to the Eurovision stage for Australia, which has been part of the competition since 2015.
Once again 15 acts will be taking part in the hopes of making it through to Saturday’s grand final.
Five acts will be eliminated from the competition tonight with the remaining 10 going through.
