New York was dazzling with stars of stage, screen, music, activism and more earlier this week as the renowned Met Gala returned to the Metropolitan Museum of Art with 'Fashion Is Art' as its theme (a nod to the museum's 2026 Costume Institute exhibition, Costume Art). As celebrities wowwed on the red carpet with their take on the theme with custom tailored looks, one star in particular captured our attention with her 'ageless' appearance.
Of course we mean the icon that is Cher, who dazzled in bespoke Burberry, Chrome Hearts, and Swarovski jewellery, enhanced by a complete Charlotte Tilbury makeup look. At 79 years old, Cher consistently appears at red carpet occasions looking more radiant than ever, and last night proved no different.
The secret behind her Met Gala radiance? None other than Charlotte Tilbury's cult favourite Magic Cream (£54).
Initially developed by the British makeup artist to provide models backstage an instant luminosity before taking to the catwalk, Magic Cream has rapidly achieved its legendary reputation within the beauty sector, becoming a go-to for makeup artists, editors and consumers both on the red carpet and off.
The iconic moisturiser has recently undergone reformulation with a new peptide-powered formula that delivers even greater benefits. It features 100 multi-action peptides extracted from the stem cells of the eternal jasmine youth plant – an ingredient Tilbury describes as renowned for its rejuvenating properties.
The brand has even labelled it a 'facelift in a jar', promising fuller, smoother, more luminous skin within minutes. As someone who regularly uses this cream myself, I can attest to its 'magic' status.
Yet it wasn't solely luxury beauty products commanding attention on the red carpet, as a handful of budget-friendly picks also managed to turn heads. Cara Delevingne, one of the official hosts of the #metgala live stream, brought her own stylish flair to the 'naked dress' trend in a semi-sheer Ralph Lauren gown, opting for a sultry, smoky eye created using L'Oreal's Telescopic Extensionist Lengthening and Curling Mascara, priced at £13.99.
Joining Cara, Zoë Kravitz also sported a full face of L'Oreal, achieving her luminous complexion with the brand's cult-favourite Lumi Glotion, priced at £11.99. This lightweight, skin-enhancing primer had already sold out across the US prior to its UK launch in 2024, and has won legions of fans for the natural, radiant finish it delivers. L'Oréal's Lumi Glotion is available in five shades, ranging from 901 Fair Glow to 905 Very Deep Glow, and can be found at LookFantastic, Superdrug and Boots.
