Denise Welch has hit back at claims she has quit Loose Women, branding the reports "a downright lie" and adding they could "f**k off" in a passionate message to fans.
The TV star took to Instagram to address the rumours directly after spotting headlines suggesting she had stepped away from the ITV daytime show.
Speaking candidly, Denise, 67, said: "It just says Denise has quit Loose Women… it’s a complete lie."
She explained that while she’s no stranger to dramatic headlines, this particular claim had crossed a line. She continued, "I fail to understand how… they can put something on the front page which is a downright lie."
Denise went on to reveal that her representatives had previously been contacted about the story and had firmly denied any truth to it.
The actress and presenter, who has been a regular panellist on the show for years, made it clear she remains part of the programme and has no plans to step away and added that she is booked in to appear on the show in May.
It's not the first time Denise has been caught up in fake news. Earlier this year the Loose Women panellist and soap icon was falsely reported to have passed away in a malicious viral rumour that spread rapidly.
The star's Wikipedia page had even been altered to indicate she died on 18 March 2026, whilst another individual had fabricated a Sky News bulletin claiming she had passed away in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Denise's comments come amid wider changes to ITV’s daytime schedule, with Loose Women, along with Lorraine, now airing for just 30 weeks annually.
The programme returned to screen on Monday (April 27) after weeks off air, following the broadcaster's cuts last year. Host Christine Lampard was joined by Coleen Nolan, Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore, as they prepared to discuss the day's topical stories.
