A legendary music producer who worked with icons including Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton and David Bowie has died. Mike Vernon passed away at the age of 81 as trubutes poured in from stars and fans alike. Tributes have been pouring in from across the music world, with Mick Fleetwood leading the emotional response. In a heartfelt post shared on Fleetwood Mac’s official Instagram, he wrote: “Sad news in the story of FM.. Mike Vernon and his brother Richard Vernon were the original believers in the music of Fleetwood Mac.
“As one of the surviving members of the original Fleetwood Mac from the early days.. in 1967!! I’m hearing that Mike Vernon has passed away. Me and Fleetwood Mac’s legacy are reminded of this incredible intuitive music man with a huge love of the Blues from which the formative bones of Fleetwood Mac were formed. I am eternally grateful … and now saddened at this news.
“On behalf of Fleetwood Mac and myself… condolences to Mike’s family and extended friends.”
