A “police-led incident” closed the M42 in Warwickshire earlier this morning.

Drivers travelling northbound between junctions for M6 toll and Junction 10 for Tamworth were diverted away.

In a statement on X National Highways said: “The M42 in Warwickshire is closed northbound between J9 M6 Toll and J10 Tamworth due to a Police led incident.

“Traffic is also stopped on the M42 southbound between J10 and J9.

“More information to follow, thank you for your patience.“
