Donald Trump was furious minutes after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as he raged at a reporter's "dumb question".

The reporter asked President Trump about a security agreement, to which the US President replied: "What a dumb question. Nobody knows what the security agreement is going to say." Zelensky has arrived at Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida today to discuss a 20-point proposal to end the war in Ukraine.

Trump continued: "There will be an agreement, will be. The European Nations have been really great. They are very much in line with this, they are all terrific people."

He told reporters it would be a "very good meeting" which would be "good for Ukraine, good for everybody". The US President also claimed to have ended eight wars, describing the Russia-Ukraine war as the "most difficult one".

While the reporter received a terse word, the tone between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky was a far cry from the clash last year in the White House, with the US President praising his Ukrainian counterpart as a "brave man" who has "worked very hard".

This week, Zelensky detailed some points of an updated peace plan, describing it as "the main framework for ending the war".

It's an updated version of an earlier 28-point proposal, which had been drawn up between US envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian negotiators.

He said it proposed security guarantees from the US, Nato and Europeans for a co-ordinated military response if Russia invaded Ukraine again. Zelensky said a "free economic zone" was a potential option for the key Donbas region.

He told journalists that US negotiators were looking to establish a demilitarised zone or a free economic zone in the key Donbas region.

Zelensky stressed that any area from which Ukrainian troops were withdrawn would have to be policed by Ukraine.

"There are two options," the Ukrainian president added. "Either the war continues, or something will have to be decided regarding all potential economic zones."

Ahead of the meeting, Trump spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin, which he described as "very productive". The US President said he would call Putin after today's meeting.
