Lee Andrews' disappearance has been dubbed a "frantic escape" plan from his whirlwind marriage to Katie Price, as the alleged 'swindler' remains unaccounted for in Dubai. The TV personality has been left without contact for nearly a week, after her husband made promises of money to her.
Katie now fears she may "never hear" from her elusive husband, as reports indicate the 43-year-old is "squatting in a slightly run-down villa" and relying on a burner phone to communicate with those he trusts. Lee is reportedly wanted by Interpol after Hertfordshire police escalated an investigation involving allegations from one of his former partners, with The Sun claiming he is "frantically planning a route out of this ginormous hole he appears to have buried himself in". It is further alleged that Lee owes Katie a sum of money, having even presented her with cheques he had purportedly deposited into her account, yet the funds have failed to materialise, reports the Mirror.
Lee had reportedly last spoken to his wife on Wednesday night before the location on his phone vanished and his family lost contact at 10.03pm.
On Saturday night, Katie announced on her YouTube channel that, contrary to a statement issued earlier in the week claiming Lee was "taking a break" from social media, he was in fact "missing".
The TV star has been in contact with authorities in Dubai, who informed her that they had no knowledge of his whereabouts. The former glamour model has been led to believe her husband has been abducted, revealing that her final FaceTime call with him showed him with his wrists bound, a hood pulled over his head, sitting inside an 'old, dirty van' with mesh windows, panicking that 'they [were] coming back for [him]'.
Katie, 47, has firmly denied any involvement in the ordeal as a publicity stunt. Lee's family have since taken matters into their own hands, lodging an official missing persons report with the British Embassy in Dubai, where Lee claimed to have outright purchased a £36million mansion with Katie. This has since been exposed as a rental.
Katie married Lee after knowing him for just a matter of days in January. He is her fourth husband and her ninth engagement, having proposed after a mere two days from their first encounter.
Following the couple's engagement, it emerged that just months earlier he had proposed to another woman in an identical fashion.
Family and fans voiced their concerns from the very outset of the relationship. Katie's sister Sophie has been particularly scathing, claiming she is unable to even say his name' because of how much he 'winds [her] up'.
Katie's children Princess, 18, and Junior, 20, have expressed their wish for their mother to 'be happy', yet discovered her engagement via text message and have not met Lee.
During her most recent visit to the UK, Katie appeared on Good Morning Britain alone, where she dismissed claims that Lee had been detained at the airport, insisting that visa complications were responsible for his absence. However, details of his 'kidnapping' came to light shortly afterwards.
