Dave Hill is still going with his music career after building up his legacy in the 1970s with the formation of rock band, Slade. Even all these years later, he still tours with the group and has refused to slow down, with tickets already announced for Dave Hill's Slade UK tour 2026. Each year they perform some of their iconic tracks around the festive season to highlight their iconic Christmas song Merry Xmas Everybody, and he's still loving it just as much as he was before.

So much so, that the rocking legend has vowed that he doesn't plan to stop performing anytime soon, but noted he may need to make some changes and focus on getting himself checked out to make sure that he's always in tip-top shape when it comes to doing his live performances. He's vowed to keep going because he still gets "the buzz" from performing.

Speaking to Daily Mail, he said: "If I thought I couldn't do it properly, I wouldn't do it or because I thought I didn't like it. I'll get myself checked out to make sure things are in order in my body because when I walk on stage, I always sweat a lot because I move around.

'For me, it's still the buzz. A lot of people will continue doing what they love doing until they leave us and I'm probably one of them, but I don't have any perception of how long I'm going to live. All I know is, we're in the now."

Dave also explained that he's still got a strong friendship with his best friend and bandmate Noddy, stating that they have a "very deep relationship" and that he has been "the most closest person to me".

He's still widely supported by fans across the UK after giving an update on his birthday after well-wishes. The Slade Are For Life - Not Just For Christmas account wrote: "Dave Hill saw all your good wishes posted for his 80th birthday, and has sent us this lovely message to pass on to you all..."

He said: "Massive thanks to John, and to everyone for the wonderful messages shared on Slade Are For Life - Not Just For Christmas. It’s been such a happy time, surrounded by my beautiful family. Keep on rockin’, and thanks for the memories. Dave."

One fan responded: "Happy birthday Dave, keep on rocking!" While another said: "Thank you Dave for keeping the flame alive." A third wrote: "Thanks Dave for all the years of rocking."
