Filmmaker Brian Lindstrom has sadly died just two weeks after his wife, Cheryl Strayed, announced that he had been diagnosed with a fatal illness. He tragically died at just 65 years old. Wild author Cheryl issued a statement on Instagram as she told her followers: "Our children, Carver and Bobbi, and I held him as he took his last breath and we will hold him forever in our hearts. The only thing more immense than our sorrow that Progressive Supranuclear Palsy took our beloved Brian from us is the endless love we have for him."

The National Institue of Neurological Disorders and Stroke describes the condition PSP as a "rare neurological disorder that affects body movements, walking abd lanace, and eye movements." The symptoms are similar to Parkinson's disease is caused by damage to nerve cells in the areas of the brain that control thinking and movements.

In her tribute, his wife said: "What tremendous luck it was to be his partner for more than thirty years. We loved each other and our kids with deep devotion and true delight. He was a stellar husband. He was the most magnificent dad. He was a man whose every word and deed was driven by kindness, compassion, and generosity. He saw the goodness in everyone. He believed that we are all sacred and redeemable."

She added: "He made films about incarcerated moms and their kids, about people with mental illness and substance use disorders, about teens living in homeless shelters, foster care, and detention centers, about people who were at the bottom and trying to climb up. He showed them to us so we'd see what he saw: that every one of us is deserving of love and respect; mercy and honor."

Tributes have since poured in for him, with one user writing: "I am a loss for what to say in the face of such an unspeakable tragedy. I am thinking of their children Bobbi and Carver who have lost their father at tender ages. I am thinking of Cheryl who has lost her love, her partner, her best friend. I am thinking of Brian who deserved better. Rest in peace dear Brian. I only want to remember you laughing with us all during the play, so supportive of Cheryl and our cast and crew, so full of love."

Another wrote: "Very sorry for your loss, thinking of you, sending you lots of love to you and your family." Another added: "May his memory be eternal."
