Legendary rock band Kollapse posted a heartbreaking update as guitarist and vocalist Peter Clement Lund, also known as Pete Deville, nears the end of his life following a courageous battle with aggressive lymphoma. The trio which also includes drummer Peter Drastrup and bassist Thomas Martin Hansen, shared a black and white image hugging backstage and captioned it: "We have hugged countless times. Mostly before going on stage, but today was different.

"Today we shared probably the most important hug we have ever shared. We said our final goodbyes, knowing that Peter doesn’t have much time left and that soon our trio will become a duo. But Peter will stay with us forever. We love you all, and thank you for being with us through these tough times. For now, there is silence…"

The 39-year-old dad of three had been undergoing treatment for the blood cancer since May 2025 when he began chemotherapy. In November 2025 he underwent a stem cell transplant, which he admitted was a gruelling experience in an Instagram post from hospital.

"I'm not gonna lie, it has been terrible and still is. I've felt like giving up regularly and the outlook the next 6 months are tough. I have to relearn how to eat and drink and walk and in general function," he revealed. Unfortunately, the transplant failed, and he is now facing acute leukaemia with a severe prognosis.

On April 18 he through an early 40th birthday party fearing he won't make it to his actual birthday on September 17. "He wrote: "Since I'm not sure how long I've got and my 40th birthday seems very far away right now, we decided to throw a party."

The music community has rallied around him and earlier this year, Pumpehuset in Copenhagen hosted a massive benefit concert featuring the band and GRAVA, with all proceeds going directly to Peter and his family.

Fans rushed to share their heartfelt sympathies with Peter and the band following the emotional post.

Commenting on the Instagram message one wrote: "I found Peters account two days ago and haven’t stopped thinking about him since. It is so terribly sad and unfair... I wish I was able to put into words what I would truly like to say, but any words that come, all seem inadequate, but please know that I wish you all Peace, Love and Strength."

Another added: "Peter writes lovely posts with such grace in the saddest of circumstances. I wish for him a miracle but failing that, a peaceful painless transition onto whatever journey comes next. It is humbling having read through his other posts and mankind can learn a lot from him. Sending love and peace to him and his family."

A third chimed in: "You know, I just got into y'alls music. Even though I didn't see the fruition of your music over the years, this still hits hard. Always sad to stare imminent death in the face; even when it's someone you don't know. Wish you guys well."

Meanwhile a fourth simply shared: " This is the most poignant photo I have ever seen," followed by a broken heart emoji.
