Princess Astrid of Norway has been taken to hospital, it has been announced. It comes after the 94-year-old, who is the sister of King Harold, attended a official royal engagement.
Astrid was treated for pneumonia in hospital back in March. The Norwegian magazine Se og Hor reported that ambulance took the Norwegian royal to the hospital's emergency room.
Earlier in the day, Princess Astrid attended the 100th anniversary celebration of the Blindern and Vinderen Sanitetsforening [sanitary association].
She has been the organization's patron since 1954. The association has said that they work to "improve women's health and living conditions".
The royal previously shared that she is determined to be "useful" despite her advancing years.
The Norwegian Royal Family have experienced a lot of crisis this year, with Crown Princess Mette-Marit named more than 1,000 times in the latest release of the Epstein files.
Speaking after the release of the files at the start of the year, she said that she held "deepest regret for my friendship with Jeffrey Epstein" and apologising for "the situation that I have put the Royal Family in, especially the King and Queen".
The Crown Princess' son Marius Borg Høiby, who was raised as a stepson of the Crown Prince, was also standing trial in Oslo charged with 38 counts, including the rape of four women.
The 29-year-old pleaded not guilty to the most serious charges of rape and domestic violence but acknowledged partial guilt – a plea allowed under Norwegian law – for aggravated assault and reckless behaviour.
He also admitted lesser charges, including driving too fast.
