Vladimir Putin’s mouthpieces are doubling down on their threats of nuclear strikes on Britain.
The self-confessed “Nuclear Maniacs Club” on Kremlin-funded state TV warned that England would be wiped out in a strike by Russia’s Sarmat missile.
This giant hypersonic rocket - also known as Satan-2 - was successfully tested this week for the second time, and will be deployed with the armed forces later this year, according to the Putin regime.
It is the seventh time in four years the dictator or his officials have said nuclear-capable Sarmat was due to be put on combat duty, but until now its test programme has been jinxed and hit by delays.
The apocalypse 208-ton intercontinental silo-launched 15,880mph missiles is as tall as a 14-storey tower block.

Pro-Putin Telegram channels threatened to unload Sarmat on Downing Street in the minutes after the test was announced.
But now state TV military expert Col. Yuri Knutov has told Russian viewers: “One [Sarmat/Satan-2] missile would be enough to wipe out England.”
Putin’s TV propagandist-in-Chief Vladimir Solovyov told him England was “too small for such a missile”.
Instead, Knutov said Putin should make a “demonstrative strike” with smaller but deadly “tactical nuclear weapons”.
The ramping up of the nuclear strike threats from Moscow appears to coincide with Russia losing the initiative in the long-running war with Ukraine.
“[The West is] becoming increasingly brazen, believing that we won't respond,” said Knutsov.
A “demonstrative strike” was intended to halt Western support for Ukraine and warn against rearmament.
“There are more and more of us nuclear maniacs every day,” said warmonger Solovyov.
“I believe that the moment is approaching when we have practically no other choice,” said Knutson.
“[The West is] quite determined to fight, by 2030.
“By 2030, Europe must arm itself and transition its army to a new system of manning.”
Solovyov said: “Why wait? It's better to strike before.”
Separately, Putin crony Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president and premier, gloated as he posted about the Sarmat threat: "Congratulations of Russia's Western 'friends'.....Now we're all so much closer."
Putin guru Sergei Karaganov, known as Professor Doomsday, warned of wiping Britain “off the face of the earth - vanishing into thin air”.
The boffin who has Putin’s ear, said: “It's essential to stop Europe's slide not only toward a new conventional arms race but also toward expanding its nuclear arsenal.
“Russia must quickly increase its operational and strategic nuclear capabilities so that the citizens and rulers of France and Britain know:….
“If Paris or London attempt to use nuclear weapons against Russia or transfer them to anyone else, these countries will simply be wiped off the face of the Earth, vanishing into thin air.
“Of course, God forbid.”
Meanwhile the former head of the Russian Space Agency - now a senator - Dmitry Rogozin said:
“I know the power of the Sarmat…
“I led the work on organising its first successful launch in the spring of 2022…
“And I can only add that God forbid someone forces us to unblock the launch of this wild, unbridled Sarmat, which will break through any missile defence system and wipe out the enemy continent that offended us.”
