Bargain Hunt's John Cameron mostly keeps his personal life out of the public eye and saves his social media for posts about Bargain Hunt, but the TV star has shared one sweet update related to his family with his Facebook fans. Sharing a photo to his feed, he posed with a newborn baby at the hospital as he wrote: "I wanted to share my good news, hot out of the oven, with all the Bargain Hunt fans. Dear Lord, thank you for the best birthday present a granddad could wish for.

"Welcome to the world baby Raphael John Cameron, born on his granddad's 56th birthday!!! Our beautiful Dani (mummy) and baby are both doing well and Scotty Boy Cameron is fairing ok too. A big thank you too for all my birthday messages. I am truly blessed." The news was shared by a fan on Reddit who wrote: "Wonderful news for John Cameron".

While John doesn't often share insights into his private life, he did share a family snap from his son-in-law's 40th birthday. With a snap of his partner, daughter and son-in-law, he wrote: "Lovely weekend in Budapest celebrating our son-in-law's 40th birthday. A beautiful city and I can highly recommend the night-time river crusie, although I did drink one too many Negronis, and they daytime TukTuk tours."

The snap showed the four of them posing in front of the river as John joined his nearest and dearest and flashed a smile, alongside another photo which had been taken of them in front of landmarks. The insight was welcomed by fans, but isn't typical of his profile as he often shared Bargain Hunt snippets and teasers on there.

John is mostly known for his time on Bargain Hunt after growing up around antiques because his grandfather was a dealer. He explained that he got into it while he was doing a five-year apprenticeship as a carpenter/joiner. He previously told the BBC: "As my £27.50 weekly YTS wages weren’t enough, I supplemented my income by stripping, restoring and waxing antique pine furniture which was very fashionable in the late 1980s. A re-occurring prolapse disc in my back forced me to give up my physical job and return to college where I undertook a three-year degree course at Southampton, studying fine art valuation."

His previous work included being an expert on Cash in the Attic and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.
