Prince Harry and King Charles did not meet up during the monarch's US royal tour, with claims his son's plans to reconcile with the Royal Family have gone up in smoke. The Duke of Sussex, 44, was ripped apart during the debut episode on Thursday of The Royals Uncensored hosted by Jo Elvin and Katie Nicholl. It comes after King Charles and Queen Camilla travelled to Washington DC to visit US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

There had been much speculation the father and son would reunite during the tour, but it did not happen. Now, the real reason why King Charles refused to meet with Harry has been exposed. While they held a positive, private meeting in London in September 2025, subsequent progress has ceased, leaving Harry feeling "held at arm's length" amid unresolved security concerns and the monarchy’s focus on other crises.

The podcast hosts revealed the pair's fractured relationship shows no signs of being mended and that it's now at an "all time low".

Katie Nicholl explained: "There was a lot of talk that Harry might be meeting up with the King on this visit. Obviously, they are in the same country. And it didn't happen.

"Now, Palace aides say the schedule visit was too busy."

She went on: "I think the real reason is because the King knows any conversation he has with Harry, there is a very high chance it's going to be leaked.

"So I got on the phone and spoke with someone who is very close with the King and he said, 'That's exactly it.' The relationship between the King and his son is actually at an all time low at the moment."

Katie claimed Harry is not going through the official channels to communicate with his father, which is going through his Charles's private secretary.

"What Harry does, which is goes off-piece, and tries to contact his father directly," she commented. "And that makes Charles nervous."

Harry has since addressed claims he's "not a working royal," telling ITV in an April 24 interview that he "will always be part of the royal family." And in 2025, Harry told the BBC that he "would love a reconciliation" and wanted to end the rift, given he does "not know how much longer my father has".
