David Haye is reportedly planning to launch a £10million lawsuit against ITV. The former heavyweight champion is said to have enlisted a legal team, claiming the editing of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa has caused "irreparable damage to his brand". It is alleged by The Sun that Haye's solicitors have fired off a letter to ITV, which broadcasts the programme, demanding a full investigation into how the final edit was determined. Despite the I'm A Celeb spin-off being pre-recorded, the 45-year-old faced a fierce backlash after making a series of sexist remarks.

He further shocked his fellow campmates with a string of sexist remarks. Speaking about his girlfriend Sian, who works as a model, he commented: "She's like tall, blue eyes. She's lovely. She's got the personality of a proper ugly bird." He went on to suggest that "ugly girls" need to have "a personality and banter," to overlook "the fact that they're not aesthetically amazing".

"David is absolutely gung-ho about all of this - he is incandescent with rage about how the whole series has been handled and feels he's being made a scapegoat by ITV," a source told The Sun. The source continued to assert that Haye believes he was purposefully edited to seem confrontational. The source further claimed that David is "none of those" and has subsequently faced online abuse since the programme was transmitted across the nation, reports the Mirror.

One instance involves a remark that body-shamed Gemma Collins. The reality personality informed her fellow campmates that her hair was thick, to which David responded: "It definitely ain't thin." He purportedly believes that this constituted "clever editing". The source added that his legal representatives will be examining the complete series to identify further instances.

"He is going for damages as a result of the 'propaganda' aired against him to recover lost earnings, which lawyers believe could total up to £10million," the source claimed. It's alleged that discussions David was conducting with Netflix regarding a programme and other commercial partnerships have been suspended following the controversy surrounding him.

Haye isn't the sole individual consulting a legal firm. Former footballer Jimmy Bullard is also reported to be contemplating pursuing legal action against the programme and believes he was "sitched up" by ITV during the final edit, alleging that during his dispute with Adam Thomas, ITV never broadcast Adam calling Jimmy a "c***." Host Ant McPartlin subsequently confirmed on air that this scene was unsuitable for broadcasting.

"He wanted everyone to see the shocking unedited version of the fight," a source previously claimed. The insider alleges that Bullard was "hugely disappointed" with presenters Ant and Dec, and that Gemma also let him down by taking Adam's side — despite not having witnessed their original confrontation firsthand.

"He is talking to lawyers and looking into his ITV contract to see what grounds there are to sue," the source added.
