Netflix has offered fans a teasing preview of Bridgerton season four, part two, just one day after releasing the first instalment of the beloved Regency drama. In the brief teaser clip, which plays after viewers complete season four, episode four, audiences are reacquainted with the cherished Anthony (played by Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Bridgerton (Simone Ashley), reports the Manchester Evening News.
The pair are shown relaxing on a bed with their newborn after it was revealed that Kate had given birth in India whilst the Viscount and Viscountess were travelling abroad.
The couple, affectionately dubbed 'Kanthony' by fans, appear utterly content with their little one nestled between them.
Many have already flocked to Reddit to share their thoughts on the heartwarming reunion, particularly after some had criticised the absence of Kanthony content in the season four trailer Netflix had previously unveiled.
One fan expressed their joy on Reddit, writing: "Makes me broody for another one" accompanied by two crying emojis and a screenshot of the adorable baby.
Another user commented: "Looks like a little girl with those eyelashes."
A third gushed: "THAT KANTHONY BABY IS GORGEOUSSSSSS OMMMMGGG [sic]", whilst a fourth person quipped: "I devoured the first part. Absolutely incredible. So glad Kanthony have finally made an appearance as well. But oh my the chemistry between Benophie [sic]."
The trailer arrives as Benedict Bridgerton (played by Luke Thompson) proposed that maid Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) become his mistress, prompting her to turn away in bewilderment and revulsion.
Yet, based on the trailer for season four, part two, Benedict may choose to pursue his emotions and defy society's stringent conventions.
In one particular scene, Benedict confides in Will Mondrich (Martins Imhangbe): "There is a woman. She is not a person of any rank, and I have upset her."
Will offers some sage advice to his companion: "No matter her rank, no woman truly desires to be hidden."
These words could be what inspires Benedict to follow his instincts.
Nevertheless, the trailer hints at tension, with Sophie and Benedict sharing longing and occasionally strained looks as they attempt to navigate societal expectations.
Sophie even intends to depart from Bridgerton House, attempting to convince Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) that her choice isn't influenced by "anyone" within the household.
Violet clearly suspects there's more to Sophie's story and intends to uncover the truth, but will she manage this before the maid departs?
The trailer builds to a climax with Lady Whistledown's words: "Dearest Gentle reader, there are moments in our lives when we arrive at a crossroads."
However, her remarks aren't solely aimed at Benedict's predicament, but also touch upon Violet's budding romance with Lord Anderson (Daniel Francis), Francesca Bridgerton's (Hannah Dodd) emotions towards Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza), and Lady Danbury's (Adjoa Andoh) choice to embark on travels rather than continue as a lady's maid to Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel).
There's also an exchange between Violet and Benedict, where she questions her son: "Will you sacrifice your family? Whatever you choose, you must live with it forever. We all will."
Considering Violet's firm conviction that love conquers all, she may be encouraging Benedict to follow his heart whilst ensuring he understands the ramifications of his choice.
Bridgerton season 4, part 2 will be released on Netflix on February 26
