British Gas has issued advice for heavy snowfall, suggesting households should gather essential supplies and make an emergency kit. Brits should be prepared for bad weather with several areas set to see snow on Tuesday. Maps from WXCHARTS show snow could make its way across the UK, with several areas blanketed white on the forecast. The maps show 19 cities will see snow at 3pm on Tuesday.
British Gas says: “It’s a good habit to have at least three days’ worth of food and essentials stored in an easy-to-reach part of your home. That’s things like medicines, drinking water, non-perishable food and snacks, and extra blankets. You should also keep a torch, batteries and a phone charger close by too.”
But this is not the only thing you can do to be prepared. British Gas also suggests making a car kit.
It says you should include de-icer, scrapers, wiper fluid and anti-freeze which will all come in handy if you need to drive during wintery weather.
It adds: “You might even want to keep some jump leads in the boot in case your car doesn’t start.
“And before going on any journeys, make sure you’ve got some food, water, a torch, your phone and charger, plus a blanket or two with you.”
Meanwhile, the Met Office forecast for Monday to Wednesday reads: "Remaining unsettled throughout, with bands of rain moving north and east across the country, particularly on Tuesday when another deep area of low pressure approaches from the southwest. Feeling cold."
