Prince Harry already appears to be planning a public life for his two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, leaving friends "bemused", it has been reported. Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, last year, announced they would be making changes to their foundation in a new statement.
The couple issued the following release: "After five beautiful years, the Archewell Foundation is becoming Archewell Philanthropies,’ the statement said. "This charitable entity allows the couple and their children to expand upon their global philanthropic endeavours as a family." The statement was the first time the couple had mentioned their children in their future plans.
A friend of Harry's told the Daily Mail: "I am genuinely confused. Harry and Meghan were always so insistent that their children would be able to make their own way in life without the pressure of expectations or titles."
They added: "I can’t believe Harry is behind this. It must be Meghan’s influence."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have previously campaigned about the dangers of social media, but experts claim they are increasingly using their two children in their social media images, despite keeping their faces hidden or blurred.
On the same day that the statement was issued about Archewell, Meghan posted a family photograph on social media alongside a Christmas message.
In the photo, Archie was seen hugging his father while Meghan was bending down and holding hands with Lilibet, in what appears to be on a bridge in their garden.
Later this month, there will be a decision on whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle receive taxpayer-funded police protection when they visit the UK, resulting in Harry and Meghan's children potentially visiting the UK if the outcome is successful.
Despite the duke losing his High Court appeal in May, a new risk assessment is currently under way.
It comes after the Duke wrote privately to the Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, requesting a full security risk assessment, according to The Guardian.
As per the outlet, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) will ask its risk management board to reassess its threat level for the first time since 2020, with an outcome expected this month.
