A fire described by emergency services as "large" has erupted in an English seaside town. On Friday night, firefighters headed to Sea Road in South Shields to tackle the blaze, with several crews dealing with the fire. As the firefighters were carrying out their work, the A183 was partially blocked in both directions.
The fire service urged locals to "avoid the area" as the crews were dealing with the incident, believed to have unfolded at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, ChronicleLive reports. Videos circulating online show flames and a huge plume of smoke coming through the roof of the building.
