Drivers on the M42 are facing travel chaos during this morning's rush hour, with a huge crash sparking five miles of traffic. National Highways: West Midlands said one lane is closed on the busy motorway southbound between junction 11 and and junction 10, with the queuing traffic adding around 60 minutes to normal journey times.
The latest motorway camera pictures show traffic already building up on the impacted section of the M42. National Highways: West Midlands wrote on X: "A lane is closed on the #M42 southbound between J11 #Appleby and J10 #Hockley due to a collision. There is around 5 miles of congestion on approach, which is adding about an hour to normal journey times."
